This is a theory group which studies cell and population biophysics. We are interested in adaptation, learning and control in brainless biological systems, in particular cells, lineages and cell-populations. We study variability abd dynamics in such systems empirically with experimental collaborators. We also develop theoretical and computational models of simple forms of learning, focusing on exploratory dynamics in high-dimensional state spaces under feedback.

We are part of the Network Biology Research Group at the Lorry Lokey Interdisciplinary Center for Life Science and Engineering. This group brings together researchers from different Technion departments to join forces and investigate fundamental problems in biology by quantitative approaches from different disciplines. https://nbrl1.net.technion.ac.il/
